Questions from first-time guests
Those who don't know us yet usually call with the same concerns. Here are the answers, so you can plan your visit before you pick up the phone.
Can we get a table without reserving?
During the week usually yes, on Friday and Saturday evenings rarely. Give us a quick call and we'll tell you honestly whether the walk up to the Dorfhalde is worth it.
Are children and dogs welcome?
Children yes, with a high chair, children's plate and space in the garden. Calm dogs are allowed in the dining room and under the beech tree, on a lead please.
How long does a set menu take?
For the four-course menu allow two and a half hours. If you would like it shorter, say so when reserving and the kitchen will bring the courses closer together.
What happens in the garden when it rains?
The front part under the beech tree is covered; for the rest we move into the dining room. We decide in the afternoon and call you if anything changes.
Can we come in a wheelchair?
The dining room and the garden are accessible at ground level via the courtyard. The Buchenstube on the first floor has no lift, so there we help by relocating downstairs.
Can we get separate bills?
Separate bills are no problem for up to six people. For larger groups we ask for one combined bill, otherwise the service staff spend too long at the table.

Last orders in the evening
We take orders for hot food in the evening until 21.30, after which we still serve cheese and dessert. The house is closed for two weeks over Christmas and New Year.

Before the garden fills up
On warm Fridays the nine tables under the beech tree are often taken a week in advance. Call early or send us two lines with the date and number of people.
